Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and ayou must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before.
Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature - Books Are Life
1. When did you start blogging?
I actually started blogging back in 2009 which seems crazy now! I took a break while beginning college but am now back to the blogosphere I’d missed so much. It doesn’t feel like I started blogging seven years ago, but time flies when you’re having fun.
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
I really enjoy being able to keep up with the book-ish world. I love knowing what books are coming out, and being able to talk about something that I love. I love the fact that I need a planner JUST for my blog schedule and reading schedule. I feel very thankful to receive emails from real publicists who care what I say. It is insane and I am so, so grateful.
I love all things YA, particularly fantasy, contemporary, and historical fiction. I also enjoy books with crossover appeal - especially if they involve epic adventures or furry four legged friends.
The Truth About Forever, The Study Series, The Sin Eater’s Daughter, 17 First Kisses, Going Too Far, Harry Potter, Snow Like Ashes, Lord of the Rings, etc…
I’m an English major so I also have a soft spot for classics and poetry. I often cry reading Tennyson in my spare time.
The relationship that I have built with publishers and other bloggers has been fantastic, but there are many things I look back on and can’t believe have happened. I have had breakfast with best selling authors, and have met more authors than I ever thought I would at festivals and signings, etc.. I met Stephanie Meyer before there was a movie!
Honestly though, book blogging is all about the community and all about the people you meet physically and virtually. When you write a review and have the author contact you with thanks it feels great, and when you’re able to help other bloggers it is a wonderful feeling. Blogging is just the best.
Question of the Week: Share a random quote from the book you are currently reading.- Suggested by Journey Through Fiction
I'm actually not reading a YA book at the moment. I'm reading China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan. It's a gossipy, light read about really rich people in Singapore, China, and Hong Kong. I love books like that and I'm fascinated with Asia so it's right up my alley. Actually, we're going to all three places (although mostly Hong Kong and Singapore) in October, so this gives me some good ideas of things to see and especially things to eat!The best quote from this book is not actually written by Mr. Kwan. It's at the start of Part 2 of the book and is from Dorothy Parker:
"If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to."
Even though it's a quote from someone else, it is a perfect one-sentence summary of this book.
How about you?

Ohh great quote it is really an interesting quote. Old follower on Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really interesting quote, especially if you consider the economic nosedive that the Chinese markets have just taken! Sometimes it's fun to read something outside of your go-to genre! Thanks for hosting :) I hope you have a great weekend!
