Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and ayou must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before.
Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature - Books Over Bros
1. When did you start blogging?
I've been blogging for about 6 weeks now. I'm a newbie!
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
Definitely the community, without a doubt! It's been lovely to meet so many kind and like-minded people from all over the world. I'm really looking forward to making new friends who fan-girl over books as much as I do!
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
So far, it's mostly been New Adult romance. I'm a big fan of anything romantic, so I'll more than likely stick to that, but mix it up a little with some YA, fantasy, etc. along the way.
4. What are your favorite books?
My favourite books are Norwegian Wood and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, both by Haruki Murakami. Romance-wise, I really love On Dublin Street by Samantha Young, Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire and Come to Me Quietly by A.L. Jackson. I also very recently fell in love with Natasha Boyd's Deep Blue Eternity. This was a bad question to ask me, oops!
I’m sure I forgot something. If I’m only allowed to pick one – Harry Potter Book 7.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Definitely being given the wonderful opportunity to discover up-and-coming talent. I've already read a few self-published works by somewhat little -known authors, and it's just been an absolute joy to come across such talent. I feel even more honoured that I've been given the chance to read these novels before publication! On top of that, as I mentioned earlier, the community is just so, so lovely - and I love that the authors often thank me for reviews on social media. Just knowing that someone I really admire has taken the time out of their day to read my review is such a lovely thing! :)
Question of the Week: Have you come up with any special memes or features on your blog that you'd like people to visit more? - Suggested by Take Me Away.
I have an occasional feature called Manga Mondays. I used to do it every Monday, but I've gotten lazy ever since I moved to a place where the library doesn't have a good stock of manga. I'm hoping that we'll move soon and I'll once again have a good source of manga.
I also started a feature called TV Sundays where I talk about books that are somehow related to TV, but that again has not been consistent. I have good intentions but don't get the time to write the reviews for it.
And of course there's #FF which I dearly love.

Have you ever been inspired by a book character to do something? Who was the character and what was it? - Suggested by Eternity Through Pages.

The memes I started are not very consistent either. It is a bit "when I feel like it" which probably equates to laziness.
ReplyDeleteThe memes I started arent very regular too..I got lazy and stopped but hope to start them again this year. :)

I tried to make something a meme a couple years ago and I was the only participant. LOL. So now I just do features. I love this one though.
ReplyDeleteAn old follower that just had to become a new follower because I redesigned my site and lost all the blogs I followed. I'm having to build them back up.

My FF
The memes I started are more so for me to get more blogging done, by including different content in cool ways. Manga Mondays is definitely something I would want to participate in, especially to follow more blogs who read more from this genre. I'm a Manga newbie, and am always looking for good recommendations!
