How To Become a Featured Blog?

We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before.

Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.

Our Feature - Snowbird

We're doing something a little different today. Rachel and I are featuring our pets! I'm interviewing my beloved dog Snowbird.

1. Tell us about yourself, Snowbird.

I'm a Bassador: a basset hound and labrador mix. I'm eight years old. I've lived with my mama and daddy for almost seven years. I love my mama more than anything else in the world. Except for food, but that's obvious.

2. Do you have a blog?

No. I wanted to create a blog reviewing dog food, but my mom said that my opinion was biased. I disagree. I gave every brand I tried 5 out of 5 stars, because they were all equally wonderful. There was no bias.

I also wanted to start a blog about tennis, because I love tennis balls. But I got bored with that idea after 5 bounces. Just like I do with tennis balls. My mom says that if I was a full Labrador I would want to chase balls all day. I don't mind helping mom out and catching a few balls, but personally I think she's lazy. She threw the ball - she should go get it herself.

3. What are your favorite books?


I loved Bunnicula, because a dog is the main character and the featured bunny looked very tasty...I mean cute. I love reading the Vacuum Manual, because my greatest dream is to disassemble the Vehicle of Evil. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was great. Not only does it feature squirrels, but it's about chocolate! I love chocolate. Mama won't let me have any, because she says it's bad for me, but I really think it's because she wants to eat it.

I hated Where the Red Fern Grows because not only do the dogs die at the end, but they don't even get to eat the raccoons they worked so hard to hunt. At first I loved Marley and Me because that dog made me look really well-behaved, but in the end I thought it was too sad.

4. Tell us about a typical day in the life of Snowbird.


Every day is the best day in the world. I wake up in my comfy mattress on the floor next to my mom. Then we get up and I wake for eons until mama gets my breakfast. That's the best part of the day. I eat as fast as I possibly can, because you never know if the food might disappear. Then I watch mama eat her breakfast and make sure the floor stays clean.

After breakfast, mom and I head outside to go to the bathroom and have a few sniffs. That doesn't take too long. In the summer time, we go for long walks several times a day, but in the winter I'd rather get my business done quickly. Soon enough, I'm back inside and lying on my chair that looks out into the backyard. Sometimes mom sits with me - claiming that it's actually her chair - while I take my first morning nap.

When first morning nap is over, I stand sentinel at the window for Bunny Patrol. Anytime a bunny hops by I howl and whimper like the bunny is trying to eat me. Occasionally, mom takes me outside to go look for the bunny but there's too much going on outside - as soon as I step out the door, I forget about the bunny.

After Bunny Patrol, I like to have my second morning nap. Usually followed by my third morning nap. Soon enough, my horribly mean mom drags me down to the Crate of Doom while she leaves me forever! 

Turns out Mom didn't leave me forever. This time. She springs me from the Crate of Doom and we go outside again. Then I repeat the morning. Nap. Bunny patrol, Nap. Nap. Then it's time for the other best part of the day. Dinner! Soon enough, it's time for bed and another wonderful, perfect day with my mom is over. I can't wait for the next one!

Question of the Week: Do you like fantasy or realistic books? - Suggested by The Realm of Books.

I go in phases. Growing up, I only liked realistic books. I abhored fantasy and sci fi. Then came Harry Potter and I was a little more willing to try fantasy. What really got me into fantasy was Twilight. Suddenly, I was excited to read anything paranormal, as well as traditional high fantasy.

In the past year or so, I've reverted to my preference for realistic books. Not to the extent of my childhood - I still get in a fantasy here and there, but I do prefer realistic books. I think I overdid it on the fantasy and needed a break. I'll be back though.
