Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before.
Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature - Booksane
1. When did you start blogging?
Been a while by now, my first post was Monday, January 2nd, 2012.
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
To get to share great books with others, connect with other bloggers and book lovers. And I have fun doing it :)
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I mostly read Young Adult, New Adult, Science Fiction & Fantasy Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy and Dystopian so I blog about those. And I love when I get to read and review and book from an indie author.
4. What are your favorite books?
Night huntress series by Jeaniene Frost, The Mortal Intruments and Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare, The hunger games by Suzanne Collins and also the LUX series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
I would have to say the connections I've made with authors , other bloggers and people who just love books. I love being able to share books that and new book covers from great authors. It's a great community and something I haven't been able to find elsewhere.
Q: Tell us at least one new or unusual thing you’ve done in 2013.
*This isn't the question I said would be next week's question last week. Sorry. My fault. I wanted to put that question off, because I am out of town yet again and the question would be hard to answer for me.
Here are a few unusual/new things for me in 2013.
1. I became a raging, obsessed Doctor Who fan - it's taken over my life, but in a good way.
2. I started taking fencing lessons. I've only done 3 lessons so far but it's really fun.
Now for the Follow Fun!
With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly. We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!

- Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
- Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
- If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
- Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"

- If you're new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
Next Week's Question:
Bookselling Time: Go to your biggest bookcases. Go to the second shelf from the top and pick out the sixth book from the left. Handsell that book to us - even if you haven’t read it or if you hated it. (if you don’t have bookcases, done have six books on one shelf, etc, pick a book at random)
CAPTCHA:
I have an updated CAPTCHA post!If you have CAPTCHA word verification enabled on your blog, please take it off. It makes it much more difficult for readers to comment. Please look at my CAPTCHA Eradication Post to learn how to get rid of it.
Hi Allison :) I had already scheduled my post with the book-case and hard sell, because I'm traveling now. So I guess I'll do the unusual thing next week :D
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening!

Love Dr. Who! Although my husband gets a little annoyed at me if I watch to many in a row. Fencing sounds like fun and I bet it's great exercise.
ReplyDeleteTraci @ Mad Hatter Reads
Fencing sounds totally cool!! Somehow I messed up questions this week (so much for trying to get ahead LOL), but I'd have to say I started blogging so that's new ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new GFC follower this week :)

It is so cool that you are learning how to fence! I'm such a clutz, I'd probably poke someone's eye out.
ReplyDeleteDon't tell anything about Doctor Who... I feel like crying. The Time of Doctor episode is coming and I don't wanna say good to Eleven :(
ReplyDeleteOld Follower
I haven't watched Dr Who in ages and I think learning to fence would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteOooo my best friend does fencing. Sounds pretty fun!
ReplyDeleteI've not watched Dr.Who, kind of feel intimidated since it has more than 700 episodes. I don't want to watch from the beginning but I'm afraid that I don't get what is going on if I skip. Do you think it's a problem if I miss, say the first 500 eps? And if it's ok then what episode you think I should start from?
ReplyDeleteAmie @Magic of Words
Following using GFC! I love this feature, thanks for this great opportunity to meet new lovely book addicts!
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Midnight Blossom
I can't understand why people like doctor who that much, I just don't get it.

Hi Alison! This is my first Feature & Follow Friday :) I'm so excited to be joining this.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried watching Doctor Who, I think it will turn me into a rabid fan if ever given that some of my friends are already obsessed with it. But in any case, if ever I want to start watching the show, where best should I start?
Hi,

My FF
I've always wanted to take fencing; sounds like fun! And so many people I know are liking Doctor Who too. I'm wondering if I should check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, and I answered your comment about twins back on my blog, under your comment. :)

Hey Alison! Happy Friday. Well one thing I've done in 2013 is stick to my diet. Well life-style. I'm learning to become more active and eat right.
ReplyDeleteI still need to jump on the Doctor Who bandwagon. I've watched the season with Eccleston and really liked it, but I just didn't keep watching it because I haven't had the time.
ReplyDeleteHow cool about fencing!!! That sounds like a lot of fun.
My FF Post
Fencing sounds like it'd be a lot of fun. My friend took it in college, and she loved it. I've heard so many great things about Doctor Who, and I think it's on Netflix, so I want to start watching it. My daughter (she's almost 11) told me the other day she thinks it's funny how we keep wanting the Doctor Who stuff we see but haven't watched the show yet. She wants to watch it with me. :)
ReplyDeleteMy FF @ Donnie Darko Girl
Yay! Fencing lesson. Hahaha. The most memorable event that happened so far with me this year is that I started blogging. xD
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, I've decided I'm just about to start watching Doctor Who...wish me luck! :)
