Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before.
Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature - The Attic Reviews
1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in July of 2011.
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
Interacting with other readers and authors. I've read so many books that I wouldn't have found otherwise!
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Anything YA but I mainly read and review paranormal, dystopian, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, etc. I'm not a big fan of realistic fiction.
4. What are your favorite books?
The impossible question! I can't choose just one. However, I will read anything by Libba Bray, Maggie Stiefvater, John Green, and Lauren DeStefano.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Meeting all these wonderful people! I recently started a blogger interview series and I've been communicating with other bloggers who are just all around lovely people! Bookish people are the best.
Q: What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?
Books: 13 Reasons Why; Percy Jackson; the last LOTR book; most of the Narnia books; Eragon; Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series (I've read the first one); Tamora Pierce's books; Most of John Green, Neil Gaiman, and Sarah Dessen's books despite my love for them as authors
Movies: Princess Bride (actually, I have seen this once but I definitely can't quote from it like everyone else seems to be able to do); Indiana Jones; Avatar; Pirates of the Caribbean
TV: Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Game of Thrones (haven't read the books either); Breaking Bad
Now for the Follow Fun!
With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly. We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!

Great choices in all categories! I want to get started on Game of Thrones too before it get's to far into the series, but I also want to read the books first and don't think that's going to happen. Ahhh!!! Which to do first? Decisions like that suck LOL. Have a great Friday Alison!
ReplyDeleteTraci @ Mad Hatter Reads
You HAVEN'T seen GoT? OMG!!!!!! While I'd like to read the books, don't have the time so I'll settle for the show!! <3 Ya!!
DeleteI know *hangs head* I need to just get the DVD's...that's how I watch True Blood LOL.
DeleteI never read the Game of Thrones books but I LOVE the show. I'm going about it backwards and once the show is off I will try and read the books. You must watch Buffy ~ BEST SHOW. EVER ;)
ReplyDeleteMichelle @ Because reading is better than real life
Wow, you have quite a few. I haven't read/seen most of your picks either but I had such a hard time coming up with something. I should have blog hopped first and then wrote my post;-).

I've never seen Princess Brides or Buffy either. Maybe one day.
ReplyDeleteI've not seen the Princess Bride (haven't read the book either) but I heard so many good things about it. So I'll for sure read the book. About the movie I don't know, is it good? Should I watch it?
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday.
Amie @Magic of Words
I've only read the first in The Dark Materials as well, and only read half of it at that. I own the whole series, but couldn't get through it. I've never seen Princess Bride, but I looked it up after seeing it on your post, and now I'm thinking I really should :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.
ReplyDeleteBuffy the Vampire Slayer isn't for everyone, but I'm a huge fan of it. :)

You can cut and paste your reading list to my post because I haven't read the same ones (and many more). I'm a total Buffy girl and I was a movie girl before I was book girl. I have all the Indian Jones movies on DVD. Yep. And Princess Bride is the one chick flick all men seem to think is manly enough to admit to loving. Great date movie. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Friday!!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't been able to watch both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteMy FF:)
Jackie @Jackie's Book World
A lot of these I haven't read/seen either. The ones that I have (Percy Jackson, The Princess Bride) I really enjoyed though.
ReplyDeleteAvatar was amazing ive seen it 3 times in theatre and about 3 more times out of it. you should see it, it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my FF
Ah, dang. I could've added Percy Jackson to my list, too. lol. :P

~Stephanie @ Bookfever
Yeah haven't read those book choices either! OMG, you had me freaked out with Princess Bride! I thought you'd never seen it at all! It's okay that you can't quote it!
ReplyDeleteI basically grew up watching it because my mom's friend recommended it to us since she had a son who loved it too. And thus the watching of it over and over began!
Here's my Follow Friday
Have a GREAT weekend!
Old Follower :)
Ah, I really need to read Game of Thrones. Sometimes it seems like everyone and their mum has read Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteMy FF: http://theredkingsdream.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/feature-and-follow-friday.html
I haven't seen Breaking Bad either and everyone's been talking about it nonstop lately!! Thanks for stopping by my FF.
ReplyDeleteKimber Leigh @ Kimber Leigh Writes
Buffy is my favorite show ever. If you're a fan of the paranormal at all, it is required watching :)
ReplyDeleteJulie @ Chapter Break
I'm taking part for the first time in your Feature and Follow, I just hope I did it right. My cousin raves about Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you haven't seen Buffy! That show is amazing.
ReplyDeletehttp://cupcakesandliterature.blogspot.com/2013/10/follow-friday-009.html
That's quite a list! I haven't read any John Green or Neil Gaman either, though they're both on my list. Happy Friday, Alison! :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the Pullmans either. I actually considered listing that one too. Also, I've only read the first Percy Jackson. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, Alison! That's quite a list - some I've read/seen, so I haven't. If only there was more time... Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThat's a long list but what stood out to me is The Game of Thrones. Read the books. I love them. His Dark Materials was good too.
ReplyDeleteHere is my FF http://between-my-lines.blogspot.gr/2013/10/feature-and-follow-26-shame-on-you.html
Hope to hear from you sometime.

ReplyDeleteI have the walking dead audio books and I still have not had a chance to listen to them. I should since I love the show. Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read most of those books, so you're not alone =)..and I've never seen Breaking Bad either!! I love Game of Thrones! I read only the first book and HBO made only small changes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!!
Kathy @My Nook, Books & More
Now that's a list LOL. I have to admit I love Buffy. I rewatch it periodically. The others I haven't watched. Seen some of the movies and read about half the books. :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI, too have missed most of those. Surprisingly, I've seen all of the movies! Old follower. My FF
ReplyDeleteOh you're breaking my heart with Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I'm such a huge fan of that series I even named my dog Buffy! You've got lots of great ones you haven't gotten to yet - but I can't give you too hard a time, seeing as I have a list just as long (and I only did books!).
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday - Thanks for stopping by! Old follower:-)
We're both Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad noobs - nice to know I'm in good company :)
ReplyDeleteAvatar is basically a Pocahontas ripoff with blue people that have tails. Visually stunning but not a lot new in terms of plot or characterisation.
Buffy is quite intimidating as there were so many seasons. I dipped in and out. The Dracula one though was hilarious as Xander basically turned into Renfield. You might like the Buffy versus Edward (Cullen) mashup on Youtube. All the Buffy attitude but only 3 mins long.
Thanks for stopping by my F&F

Percy Jackson was on mine too! I wish I would have put more books down. I just picked one set!

ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the TV shows, but not the movies. I've seen them all, but can't quote any. I haven't read a number of those books either, but stuck with just the full Twilight Saga for the post. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteMaria @ Reading the Alphabet
I haven't read those books either. And I also haven't read or watched Game of Thrones.. I'm rubbish! Lol
ReplyDeleteLinsey @ mybooksnthings.com
I had read (and enjoyed the first three books in the Percy Jackson books. I still need to finish them. Buffy is an amazing show though the first season is easily the weakest. Old follower.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read or seen most of those either. With the exception of John Green and Sarah Dessen. I've read a few of his, and all of hers. OLD follower. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love Tamora Pierce. I have never read Sarah Dessen either!
ReplyDeleteWhat? You haven't read Percy Jackson and Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials? They're two of my all time favorite books. But I understand you, Alison, there's just so many books that need to be read. I am also guilty of not reading Gaiman or Green or Lewis.
ReplyDeleteRe: movies, why haven't you watched the Pirates of the Caribbean? Jack Sparrow is the awesomest pirate I've ever known.
Thanks for dropping by my blog, Alison!
