Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before.
Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature - Words and Tea Bottles
1. When did you start blogging?
I started Words and Tea Bottles in January of 2013, but I’ve had blogs before. They were mostly personal ones, or ones specifically for a novel I was writing at the time. The earliest one I can remember was from 2004 over on LiveJournal.
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
I have to say it’s getting to know about books I might not have heard of otherwise. I use NetGalley a lot and follow plenty of people who do blog tours and cover reveals for books coming out. This also accounts for self-published books, since you wouldn’t normally see one on the ‘coming soon’ poster or flyer in a book store.
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Young adult. It’s mostly what I read and what I write; I hardly ever dabble into “adult” fiction.
4. What are your favorite books?
Ella Enchanted. I’ve loved that book since I was in junior high, although I was pretty disappointed with how the movie compared.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Definitely getting to connect with authors; I’ve gotten friendly with a few who’ve directly requested a review from me, and it’s always nice to be on the short list when they’re getting ready to release something new!
Q: Reading Nook Tour: Give us a tour of your favorite reading spots.
Once again, I am in Phoenix visiting my parents for a few days, so I'll give you a few photos of my all time favorite reading spot: our backyard. And I only have it for another week, because my parents are moving to a new house :-(
Now for the Follow Fun!
With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly. We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!

Next Week's Question:
CAPTCHA:
I have an updated CAPTCHA post!If you have CAPTCHA word verification enabled on your blog, please take it off. It makes it much more difficult for readers to comment. Please look at my CAPTCHA Eradication Post to learn how to get rid of it.
I love your backyard. I wish our house has the luxury of space to have that beauty. Apparently, what we have is a narrow sort of cemented alleyway that only 2-3 people can pass. *sighs*

Looks like a fun place to read, Alison! :D

What a great spot to read. Doesn't it stink when your parents move and you lose all your favorite spots? I don't know if this was your childhood home, but when my parents moved out of mine it was rough. I felt like I was losing a connection to so many memories right along with it. Hopefully the new place will have some great reading spots too!
ReplyDeleteBerls @ Fantasy is More Fun
That look like a nice quite spot to read.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn @ Marilyn's Mystery Blog
My parents never stayed in a place very long.. so never had a favorite spot to get attached to. But your parents backyard looks nice.

Miss having a backyard and miss leaving in a big house! In Paris, I have to settle for a noisy small appartment that I love because it's full of life.
ReplyDeleteBut no quiet spot in a huge city unless your mind count!

It's a bit rude to move and take away one of your reading spots :) I hope the new place is just as nice if not better. Here’s my F&F

OOh nice! I don't usually do outdoor reading myself! Weather is rarely cooperative enough for me to do so. Nor do I have a comfy outdoor spot either!
