Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
How To Become a Featured Blog?
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before. Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature - Reading...Dreaming
1. When did you start blogging?
I started a year ago. My first post went live on February 16th. I don't remember if I created the blog that day or before :p
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
I love getting in touch with authors. I never imagine that it would be possible to write directly with authors :) and I love chating with people who share my passion for books.
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I review all kinds of books. Lately I've been reading a lot of YA, new Adult and a lot of paranormal books.
4. What is your favorite book(s)?
My favorite book is THE LITLLE PRINCE (El Principito for Spanish speakers). If you check out my previous F&F I always talk about that book. It's really important for me and I love it.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Mmmm... Everything has been great! One of the most amazing moments was the first time I received a paperback copy for review, I almost cry. I live in Uruguay (South America) and imagine receiveing books from US and UK. I don't know any other blogger from here so the whole idea of authors sending copies of their books was a little crazy for me :)
Q: We always talk about books that WE want. Let's turn it on its head. What books have you given other people lately?
*Sorry I've been bad about commenting the past few weeks. Only 1 week until the Bar Exam!!! The test is Monday through Wednesday. I'm making the drive to Helena tomorrow to get ready. I'll be back to regular blogging soon!
My parents and I share a Nook account, which works out very well for all of us. So a gift to them means a gift to me! I usually buy them books that I want to read or have already read and loved.
For Christmas, I bought my parents Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers, Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein, The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, Operation Mincemeat by Ben Macintyre (which I'm currently reading), and The Last Stand by Nathaniel Philbrick. Those were all on Nook. I bought them paper copies of The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty and To End All Wars by Adam Hochschild (both are great books). For their birthdays in September, I also bought them The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen, Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness, and A Blaze of Glory by Jeff Shaara. I also gave them my extra copy of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Divergent by Veronica Roth.
Now for the Follow Fun!
With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly. We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!
RULES
To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:- (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
- (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
- Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
- Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
- If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
- Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
- If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers
- If you're new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Love,
Ruty@ MYFF@Reading...Dreaming
I wish I could give my parents books like that. Well, sometimes I can talk mom into reading something that I loved, but not always. I know what she likes, and a lot of what I love she wouldn't love.
ReplyDeleteI just recommended Wonder to her. I can't wait until she reads that because it is so freaking AMAZING!
My younger brother recently got my mom a Nook (which she had me set up for her) so I'm able to send her books now. She's always read traditional Harlequin romances while I usually go for PNR and UF so we don't share our books very often, but we share the love of reading. Good luck on the bar!! Old follower.

I love the new button. Looks awesome. I have to be honest, I tend to buy books more for myself and my children than for others.

ReplyDeleteLoving the new button and all that!!! Looks great!! Also totally loving this question although I do feel bad about not buying too much this year. Hopefully when I get a job that will change. 8) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI do not share a nook account with anybody. LOL Although my hubby has access to it, he doesn't like to read ebooks and prefers the physical books. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful button!
ReplyDeleteWow, your parents still read YA? You gave them so many books! :)

Oh that's fabulous that you share a Nook account, it would be an awesome way for me to get my mom reading the books I recommend...now if I could only get her to read digitally LOL Anyways I LOVE the books you got for them (Grave Mercy, The False Prince, Discovery of Witches & Divergent!!)
ReplyDeleteOh and I tried to add the new button to my ost but it kept showing up as a broken image link & then moving around my post's formatting...even after I removed it :(
PS- Good luck on the bar exams!!
What a fantastic idea! I'd love to share a Nook account with someone, but probably not my parents. :) We really don't like the same kinds of books. My besties though...that would be awesome.
