Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
How To Become a Featured Blog?
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before. Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature -Bookworm Brandee
1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in January of this year (2012). A friend recommended I start blogging as a creative outlet for discussing all the books I read! =)
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
I really enjoy sharing books with other book lovers. Sharing opinions and discussing differences of opinion with other bloggers is indescribable. I also love that I’ve made blogger friends in the virtual world of books. AND I’ve read lots of great books by phenomenal authors that I wouldn’t have found if they hadn’t been reviewed/recommended on bloggers’ sites.
3. What is your favorite book(s)?
I have a hard time naming just one...but if you hopped by my blog last week you’ll know that my fav of all time is Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. This year has put a lot more favs on my list. A few of my “go to” authors are Rachel Vincent, Maggie Stiefvater, Colleen Hoover, S. C. Stephens, Tara Sivec, Sylvia Day...well, my list could probably go on and on. But these are a few who I will read without question...
4. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
So far, the best thing that has happened to me because of book blogging, other than making book blogging friends, is getting to see the book loving community play such a big role in promoting literacy...all the social media outlets being used, reviews and giveaways, interviews...it’s an amazing thing! I know we’re all promoting our favorite authors and their books, or introducing new authors, but it all boils down to promoting reading throughout the world. And that’s a passion of mine. =)
Q: Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?
My initial answer was going to be Hermione. And that's still partly my answer - after all, who wouldn't want to be good buds with Harry Potter and save the wizarding world with him? I'm not overly thrilled about the idea of being married to Ron although at least he'd be a laugh.
My answer stays on the Harry Potter theme though - I'd like to be Tonks.
Except for the dying part, she has one of the coolest lives of any of the HP characters. Partly I'd like to be her, because I love Remus Lupin. But I also love Tonks's style. She's super smart, brave, funny, mischievous. Actually, she's almost nothing like me (although I like to think I'm a little smart). What does she look like? Whatever she wants to. Although I think when not metamorphosing she has brown hair and dark eyes and has a pale, heart-shaped face.
Now for the Follow Fun!
With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly. We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!
<a href="http://parajunkee.com/category/ff" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4019/4710921228_e3140444bf_o.png" /></a>

- (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
- Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
- Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
- If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
- Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
- If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers

Happy Follow Friday! Come back at midnight CST for the Facebook & Twitter hop!!
I didn't think of Hermione. Great answer.
ReplyDeleteI had a little trouble with this question so my response is more generalized.
Marilyn @ Marilyn's Mystery Blog
Great answer! Hermione is super smart and awesome with spells. Great choice this week 8)
ReplyDeleteLove Hermione! I think just about every girl wants to be a bit like her.
ReplyDeleteGreat answer! I forgot about her until I read your post.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice! I'd love to be just about anyone (who's not evil) from Harry Potter! :D My FFs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy Friday! :D
ReplyDeleteTonks is such a great pick. She's the only character I really cried for aside from Snape.
ReplyDeleteI also picked Hermione. For selfish reasons of course. I never really thought she should end up with Ron although I did like him. I have always shipped her with Snape and there is no way that that would happen without influence of some evil mastermind--me.
My FF
Oh yes, I agree too :-)
ReplyDeleteLiving in the Harry Potter setting would be an amazing ride. I am sure that we will see a lot of Hermione's today, but Tonks is an amazing answer. I love your reasoning. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteTonks is a great answer, I didn't think about her but she is so much fun. Hope you have a Happy Holiday!

ReplyDeleteI could also be Mac (Fever), but she has a tough life.
Happy Friday!
Look at us with the same answer ;) XOXO
ReplyDeleteHaving never seen or read enough of Harry Potter to meet Tonks (as far as I can remember, anyway), I sadly don't know much about her. She sounds like a fantastic character though.

Hermione seems to be a popular one. And why wouldn't she be. :-) Tons would be pretty cool too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I've never actually seen the version of P&P that has Colin Firth in it. Is that bad? :-P
Happy reading!
Tara @ Shhh... Not While I'm Reading
HAHA! I know! If I could choose a character I'd me Mercy from the Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Her and I think almost exactly alike. When reading the story, are lives are similar and of course, I can figure out what she is thinking cause I am thinking it also.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Alison! Have a great weekend :)
I picked Karou from daughter of Smoke and Bone, but Hermione and Tonks are both cool answers! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hopping by my blog!
Julie~ New Adult Addiction
Great answers from the featured blog! Hermoine made an appearance in my FFF this week as well, though Tonks is a brilliant choice!! I adore Lupin as well ♥ Thanks for sharing & thanks again to Alison for hosting :D
ReplyDeleteMicheline @ Lunar Rainbows
Thanks for stopping by. Amazingly enough I have not read any of the Harry Potters, but they must be good characters because the world does love them.
ReplyDeleteOMG yes, Tonks! I always feel she is so underrated, but I absolutely love her! Thanks for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteJuli @ Universe in Words
I kind of went along the lines of Tonks. I chose to be a character in the Harry Potter world as myself, but as a metamorphmagus, lol. I want to have that ability, but I want to be me.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you chose someone "new," though. I'm anticipating that Hermione will be very popular this week.
I chose Bitterblue, but Tonks is so good. I'd also like to be Luna Lovegood, she has the ability to simply stay cool and true to herself no matter what!
ReplyDeleteHermione and Tonks are great choices! Thanks so much for allowing me to be a Feature this week! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower!! My blog is http://fantasticalpaperrealm.blogspot.com/

Hermione popped into my head first too. But really, I don't think I'd be a good Hermione. I wouldn't be a good Tonks either, but I like that answer! Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter Picks are super popular for this one! I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't started this series yet! The books are humongous and its a long series to, so I'm afraid that if I start I wouldn't be able to stop. xD Thanks for stopping by! Old follower. :)
