Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
How To Become a Featured Blog?
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before. Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature -Oh! Paper Pages
1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in November 2011. I recently celebrated my first year of book blogging by purchasing a Kindle!
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
Interacting with other bloggers is my favorite aspect of book blogging. I have made several friends as a result of a shared passion of books. Ashley from Ashley Loves Books is my favorite book blogging buddy. I also enjoy receiving recommendations about books that I probably would not have noticed on my own. Joining Twitter and following my favorite book bloggers and publishers was also a great decision. Authors and publishers tweet the most interesting comments and articles. I definitely recommend that new bloggers check out Twitter and start following!
3. What is your favorite book(s)?
I love the Harry Potter series and Pride and Prejudice. I reread those books most often and could live happily on a diet of Potter and Darcy. My favorite books of 2012 are I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga and Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.
4. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
I went to ALA in Anaheim, which was an incredible experience. To be surrounded by people who are just as in love with words and characters as I am made me feel happy.
Q: Activity! Who is your to-die-for book crush? What do you think they look like? Add an image to make us all happy.
Hmmm...I have a lot of to-die-for book crushes. One that is coming to mind right now is Oliver from The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith.
I can't even remember how he's physically described in the book, but I picture him as a nice looking boy. And by "nice" I mean "kind" being his main attribute. Definitely good looking but more the type that touches your soul rather than your hormones.
Logan Lerman (of Perks of Being a Wallflower and Percy Jackson) popped into my head as a model.
Now for the Follow Fun!
With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly. We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!
<a href="http://parajunkee.com/category/ff" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4019/4710921228_e3140444bf_o.png" /></a>

- (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
- Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
- Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
- If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
- Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"

I haven't read The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight so shame on me! Haha. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteGreat question this week. I couldn't think of just one answer so I selected a few. I'm not familiar with your selected book but I am with Logan Lerman - good choice.
ReplyDeleteMy FF @ Marilyn's Mystery Blog
Thanks for visiting! You should REad Rick Riordan's books. When the SON OF NEPTUNE came out, I bought it that Friday and read it thrice (is that a word?) in one week
ReplyDeleteI can see Logan being an excellent choice for this!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for stopping by my blog. you asked what Max Irons had been in...the only movie I've seen him in is Red Riding Hood. He is in The Host though.

Hello from a New Follower ~ My FF
ReplyDeleteHeather ~ Books Books and More Books
Oh my gosh, it's impossible to answer this question without a lengthy list, but I'll try. Right now, I'm going with Jericho Barrons and Ryodan from the Fever world, Noah Shaw, and Kaidan Rowe. I couldn't love any of those boys any more than I already do:)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous weekend Alison!
Hmm I have never read that so I will have to take your word for it that he is crush worthy
ReplyDeleteI read the book and had serious issues with it (because it hit close to home and all, not because it was badly written, which it definitely wasn't, I agree.) but I didn't care too much about Oliver.. Now, however.. Jeez, I'm being shallow today. Sorry! XD
ReplyDeleteNew follower!
ReplyDeleteThanks... :)

I'm an author who's been blogging for quite some time but only started "book blogging" this weekend. I love doing book reviews and sharing what I love in other books :) Happy reading! I'll have to come back and join your link up.
