Crazy For Books' Book Blogger Hop

I'm Alison. I've been blogging for eleven months. I review mainly YA with a few MG books and a weekly manga feature.
I missed the last Blog Hop because I was out of town, so my recap is extra long today.

Questions of the Week:
Blog Hop: Are you going to Book Expo America (BEA) and/or the Book Blogger Convention (BBC) this year?
No. I would love to go, but I'm getting read to move to California in a few months, so all my money and time are being devoted to that endeavor. I'm doing Armchair BEA.
Follow Friday: The Blogger Apocalypse made me a little emotional. What is the most emotional scene in a book that you have read lately?
Hmmm...One of my favorite books so far this year is Greyfriar by Clay and Susan Griffith. There are a few moments at the end of the book where the main characters express their love for each other that are so touching and sweet that they bring tears to my eyes no matter how often I read it.
What's Armchair BEA?
ReplyDelete@Jenni I'd say it's being at BEA emotionally, not physically :P
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm doing armchair BEA too! And Cali wow! You'll have lots of nice weather :]
Have a great weekend!
My FF
I loved the Greyfriar so much! I cannot wait until book 2 comes out:) When she was teaching him to write and then he misspelled her name because he'd never seen it before so couldn't replicate it? *dies* Have a great weekend Alison!
ReplyDeleteJust hopping by, happy Friday.
ReplyDeletestop and see mine.
I'm going to BEA and BBC, as I live in NYC that's it's pratically in my neighborhood and I can't wait to be there. It's going to be so much fun.
ReplyDeleteBEA and BBC sound like fun, and it'd be a great excuse for an NYC trip but funds and time don't really allow! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read that one. I would love to go to BEA as well, but can't, because money is tight since I'm trying to find a job and plus NYC is scary big, and I would want a buddy to go with! Of course really, finding a buddy wouldn't be the biggest problem--what with all the bloggers I know, the money is!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday Hops
Have a GREAT weekend!

Hopping through! Gah, I've somehow missed even hearing anything but the title of Greyfriar - feel I must work to remedy this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard of Greyfriar, I'll have to check it out.
Have a fantastic weekend. :D
I haven't heard of Greyfriar before, definitely going to check it out! :) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and following my blog :)
I'm very picky with the books and I mostly "judge" books by their covers, as I think a cover says a whole lot on the book. If I like it then I turn and read the plot, and if I like the plot bingo! Otherwise I put it back on the shelf. Luckily for me, Stray (the firt book of this saga) had it all. The cover is kinda cool and the subject is kinda intriguing, never read about werecats before :) Let me know when you read it so we can talk about it. And I hope to see you around my blog again ;)
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. I'm glad to know that you liked Sisters Red - I don't know a lot of people that have read it. Although my friend I go to school with just started reading it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I haven't read Greyfriar yet. Sounds pretty good though.
Awesome blog Alison! Thanks for following me, and I am proud to say I am a new follower of yours as well!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have it as part of the blog hop post before (because I posted it from my phone), but I just added the link to my 1st Blogoversary Giveaway so be sure to enter (it closes tomorrow night!). Thanks again! ^_^

ReplyDeleteMy HOP
I haven't read that book--okay, I don't even think I've heard of it--but I like the sound of it from the scene you described. I think I'll have to look it up, to take a closer look at it. :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca @ kindle fever
Hello again Alison, and thanks for stopping by my site. I am so glad my selection peeked your interest. A debut novel from someone I believe will be very well known in a short space of time.

Have a lovely weekend.
I loved Greyfriar! I really need to write a review for that. I don't think enough people have read it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the big move :-)
Happy Friday! I'm hoping to do Armchair BEA, too. Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteHappy hopping, thanks for the follow I did so as well :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Alison. Oh, yes. "Frustrating" is definitely a good word for today! I'm very upset with Blogger right now. I only just got my two posts back.
ReplyDeleteHi Alison! Happy Follow Friday! New follower... I must say, I hadn't hear of Greyfriar until today, but it also came up on Blogger Bully today so I think I'm going to have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteJ.J.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I really like your design.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Old follower hopping through. :) Yes - blogger issues= much frustration. Screwed up my whole timeline for the day. :) And it took me awhile to figure out why no one's blogs went past May 11... :)
ReplyDeleteMandy @ Reality Bites
The most dangerous thing about these posts is watching your goodreads list grow and grow. I'm going to check that out after this. And I'm armchair attending BEA, too, even if I live here. Too much too soon - but next year, for sure!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that book.
ReplyDeleteWhat is armchair BEA? I've heard that term like three times now. Is this something real or is it the term for people who aren't going?
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to BEA. No funds. No time.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteJemima x
Thanks for commenting (:
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this one yet, but I'll have to check it out! Sadly, I'm not going to BEA or BBC either...
old follower stopping by...
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the Luxe series. Have you read the newest series, Bright Young Things? It's about flappers in the 1920s. I loved it.
Armchair BEA! I guess I'll be doing that too, since I'm here in the Philippines and spending for a trip to the BEA is not really on my priority list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog!

*Hops by* Just followed you, I HAD to. Love the header! Where did you get it? Oh, and I spy "Manga Mondays," I positively LOVE manga.
ReplyDeleteArmchair BEA... I think I shall join you. I don't have the money to fly from HK to America >.<

Greyfriar sounds really interesting, I'll have to check that out! I seriously don't know if I'll ever make it to BEA because of the cost issue, but I SO want to some year.
ReplyDeleteHopping by. Good luck on your move to California and I will see you at ARMCHAIR BEA.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Looks like I'll be attending Armchair BEA too if I can remember and don't get pulled away too much. I wish I was heading to BEA too.
ReplyDeleteThe Greyfriar is on my TBR list :)
I would love to go to BEA but I can't so I decided to register for the Armchair BEA :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and following!

The Greyfriar...hmm...I'm interested because you enjoyed it but I just searched it and found that it's about vampires. That makes me hesitant but I like steampunk so I'll be adding it to my TBR list! Don't know when I'll get it to though. And I wanna go BEA so badly but I'm up in Canada and my parents don't have the time to take me! Oh well, maybe some other year.
ReplyDeleteOld follower! Thanks for dropping by my blog :)
Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your move. I just moved (am still unpacking) so I feel your pain.
(following you!)
Hi Alison! I haven't read Greyfriar, but I feel like I should! I would love to go to BEA but it's a little far and my girls are just too young to leave them for the weekend - I'm hoping in a year or two! I hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello! Stopping by on the blog hop!!
ReplyDeleteWhen you go to the Armchair BEA, make sure to take plenty of pictures! :)
~Happy Reading!~
