Questions of the Week:
**Sorry - I may not be as speedy about responding to Blog Hops this weekend. I'm on vacation, and the Internet at the hotel is horribly slow, if available at all.
Blog Hop: What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters? A little of both I think. A really bad plot can't prop up good characters and vice versa. But I think I lean a little more towards valuing characters than plot.
Follow Friday: What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different? In undergrad, I majored in economics with a minor in political science. Then I went to law school. For all of you prospective lawyers out there...don't do it! I loved law school, and I basically like being an attorney, but there are far too many attorneys and far too few jobs. I'm lucky to be employed. Many attorneys aren't. But there I go ranting...
Wow..I love the new background & header!! THey are amazing :)

Just stopping by to say hi and hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteJust hopping on by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'm still in love with your layout!
ReplyDeleteI did not go to college, and I am currently retired. I worked for over 15 years in the secretarial division of Emery Air Freight in the 1960s and 1970s. I was a stay-at-home mom for the 1980s and 1990s, and now I am helping my daughter with her business, Tribute Books as the volunteer office manager.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Alison! Hope you're enjoying your vacation! You seem to be like me, I can't bear to be away from my computer even when I'm supposed to be taking time off:) Good for you going to law school, I wanted to be a lawyer when I was younger, but I have a terrible fear of public speaking which would make presenting my case a little difficult;)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, both are necessary but if I have to choose then I'd go with characters :). Thanks for stopping by my blog your layout is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWow, lovely job with your new layout Alison! (Sorry if the new layout is old news--I've been MIA from my computer these last two weeks due to finals) I'm just stopping by from the hop this week to say hello and wish that your holiday/vacation is going well. :) Happy Friday! ;)

Happy HOP! First off I'd say both are important to how I enjoy the story but ultimately it's the characters for me. Hope you're enjoying your weekend :)

Hi fellow bloggers!
ReplyDeleteBlog Hop: What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters? This is a toughy! They are both so important to make a great read. I would have to say plot just because if the story is not good the characters won't really thrive with it. But there is a thin line there! For the most part I fall in love with the characters as well as the story!
